Growing up in rural Ohio, the best ways to pass the time were listening to music, taking things apart, and hoping to put them back together. Sometimes I could!
I started playing bass at 15, after saving my earnings from picking apples at my uncle's orchard over the summer and fall. I picked up the guitar shortly afterwards to write songs of my own. Bass may be my first love, but songwriting isn't far behind.
After studying at Miami University, I relocated to Louisville and found my calling as a Science Educator. In 2018 I was elected to the board of the Kentucky Academy of Science, serving as President of the KAS in 2022.
Music always remained a large part of my life, and I moved to Nashville after the pandemic to support my bandmate and honor the memory of another.
Things came to a crashing halt in Nashville (by things I mean my ceiling), so I moved to St. Louis in the summer of 2022. After losing what I had left in the July flooding, it was hard to find purpose. As I began to heal mentally, I found myself trapped in the cycles of poverty.
Creative projects are a source of comfort; a way to express how I feel on the best of days and darkest of nights.
As I rebuild, I hope to share the journey and what I've learned about overcoming hopelessness. Whether you are lost in the void and surviving the best you can, or trying to better understand the struggles of others...
I believe in you.
Things work out.
